NFTs for Architects : $500,000 First NFT Digital House

The first digital house was just sold as an NFT for $500,000, now what?

The contemporary artist, Krista Kim, has put on sale the world’s first NFT digital house! and sold it for 288 ether (which equals $500,000 at the time of the sale).  NFTs have been on the rise in recent weeks and we have witnessed remarkable artists taking the opportunity to sell pieces as NFTs, both exploring what NFT is and what it could be, as well as exploring the future of digital art and assets. As we are seeing more explorations and as the first digital house has been sold, this opens up a platform and an unexplored arena for architecture and real estate in the digital realm. “The Mars house” created by Krista Kim explores real estate and architecture as virtual reality commodities offering spatial experiences and realities.

The contemporary artist, Krista Kim just sold the world's first NFT digital house opening up a new world of possibilities of architecture and real estate in the digital realm.

The NFT sold on superrare goes by the name “The Mars House” and is set in “Martian” setting. The house presents glass and modern minimal furniture which can be commissioned into physical furniture (by the owner of the NFT) to a firm in Italy and realize all the furniture displayed in the house. The owner of the NFT will also receive 3D files (Metaverse is utilized for the technical integration).

The contemporary artist also partnered with Jeff Schroeder to create a complementing calming musical piece for digital house.

The big and successful sale of this digital house opens up a new world of possibilities for architects to explore and many exciting forms of unexplored “architecture” and spatial experiences as we shift towards the digital realm.

The NFTs and the blockchain technologies are surging in popularity and offer many undervalued streams in art and design, a valued and futuristic outlet, however, it is crucial to remember that at the moment the minting process of these NFTs requires a lot of energy and electricity that is essentially harming our planet Earth. Thus, it will be interesting to watch how this niche evolves as more architects and multi-disciplinary artists join.
