GameTalkTalk, South Korea’s Largest Social Gaming App to Mint Low-Carbon NFTs

Could this be the answer to environmental friendly NFTs?

As the popularity of NFTs surges so does the concern and controversary regarding their energy consumption and their effects on global warming.

In response to this, Enjin has collaborated with Ludena Protocol to allow users of South Korea’s largest social gaming app to mint low-carbon NFTs.

What are NFTs and how do they work?

Enjin has proudly released its five-step plan to enable carbon-neutral NFTs by 2030.

JumpNet launches April 6, 2021

Enjin has announced that it will be launching JumpNet on April 6,2021.
Enjin declared that it will utilize a new mechanism of consensus which is known as proof-of-authority (PoA) as opposed to the common consensus mechanism (proof-of-work (PoW)) which is highly inefficient and energy extensive.
Proof-of-authority (PoA) essentially refers to a mechanism where transactions and blocks are validated by approved accounts/validators.
As stated and shown in the graphic above (Enjin blog), the utilization of PoA will allow companies to reduce their energy consumption by as much as 99.98% compares to the energy consumed by Ethereum and Bitcoin (proof-of-work)

Enjin's plan to enable carbon-neutral NFTs by 2030

Enjin which was founded in 2009, however, has shifted its focus towards NFTs in 2017.

Enjin has proudly released its five-step plan to enable carbon-neutral NFTs by 2030.

This, if achieved, will encourage more people to join the NFT market as collectors and creators. The discussion around the carbon footprint of the process of minting NFTs has been controversial as the world is tackling climate change.
